SMS Farms runs from two places. The farm in Gadap, Karachi, is where food is grown and animals are raised. Our main office in Gulistan-e-Johar manages the business, from memberships and bookings to customer communication. This page explains what happens at each and how they work together.
Members do not need farming experience or time on the land to take part. Our staff handle planting, watering, harvesting, feeding, animal care and general upkeep. Member families can visit once a month to see the work for themselves.
We grow a wide range of seasonal vegetables, including bottle gourd, okra, spinach, tomatoes, carrots and peas, along with fruit such as guava, mango, chikoo, papaya and dragon fruit.

The farm raises goats and cattle for meat, along with farm chicken, and collects eggs. Ducks, quail, fish and honey are coming soon.
Everything on the farm is planned around our yearly calendar. It sets out which vegetables and fruits are grown and harvested in each part of the year, so members know what to expect.

Weather and growing seasons affect every farm. Not every item is available all year, and the mix of produce changes from month to month. We follow the calendar and keep members informed about what is in season.

The day-to-day paperwork and records of the business
Handling membership inquiries and member matters
Arranging farm visits for members and families
Answering questions from families considering membership
Responding to calls and WhatsApp messages from members and visitors
The farm and the office each do a different job. The farm team focuses on growing, raising and harvesting. The office takes care of memberships, bookings and communication, and coordinates with the farm on its management. This way, members have one point of contact for their questions while the farm team stays focused on the land and animals.
The monthly membership fee goes toward the cost of running the farm: workers and staff, electricity, water, animal feed, medicines and animal care, general maintenance, delivery charges, weekly packaging and other daily expenses.
